Hello @all, as most of you will know, Mojeek is continuously making improvements to our algorithm.
We are now pleased to introduce to you what could be a major update. It’s early days but in a lot of cases it is already better than the current algorithm. From this feedback we’re hoping to find out:
If you’d consider the new algorithm to be overall better, worse or the same.
Any searches that are particularly better or worse than the current algorithm.
You can check it out and provide a vote via /eval:
Or if you prefer, you can append ‘&m=118&ssoe=38404’ to the usual search URL.
As always feedback is appreciated in whatever manner you’re most comfortable with, whether via eval, here, pm (feel free to send it straight to me) or email (aloe [at] mojeek [dot] com.
I noticed that Musk’s Twitter profile was downranked off of the first page of results. I’d consider his Twitter profile to be an important result for that search.
Just a heads-up. /eval seems to ignore since:day. I assume that is by design. But, as a consequence, my A and B include results that would not appear in the standard search results.
I was testing the new algorithm and the truth is that I found something a little funny in the current algorithm https://www.mojeek.com there are some terms that when I search for them everything is fine, but when I search for them in Algorithm Evaluation I get NSFW content, I could list what I searched for so you can try it if you need.
We’re not done yet though. As a result we’ve further developed the algorithm being tested, and that iteration is now live on The Algorithm Evaluation Page. So please keep on testing out queries there so we can ensure that the version pushed is the best it can be.
@mike, as we’ve pushed this now (ref. The New Algorithm is Live 🎉) we’ve banked this feedback for the next time we do testing on the SERPs, to make sure that those parameters are useable.
No problem. But I really just meant to point out that the operator was not properly removed as intended. If it could be made to pass-thru, that would be fine.
