Search results/algorithm feedback

I noticed that results from Remarkboard often appear higher in the search results than the sites which they copy articles from.

I think that news aggregators play a valuable role, and I have no problem with seeing links to news aggregators in my search results, but from what I can see, Remarkboard is more of a plagiarism site than a news aggregator. I don’t actually know what Remarkboard is, but it just copies entire articles from other sites without showing the source and it doesn’t add anything of value.

So I think it would be an improvement to Mojeek’s algorithm if it could find a way to rank the pages with the original articles higher than pages on sites like Remarkboard which copy the same articles without referencing the source.

Never heard of this until now, but it does look like plagiarism in a way.

If Mojeek starts ranking, then that changes what it is, doesn’t it? You could always use an operator to remove those results.

Also, that site has no terms or anything. But, you can make an account? Sketchy.

Thanks @Cooper. We are looking into this. If you have some examples of specific search queries that would be great here, or my email to aloe@mojeek.com.
