Microsoft fuels Gaza genocide

How Microsoft fuels Gaza genocide and silences employees who speak out

During a keynote presentation by Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, focused on the future of the company’s AI app Copilot, Aboussad interrupted from the audience.

“Mustafa, shame on you. You claim that you care about using AI for good, but Microsoft sells AI weapons to the Israeli military,” she said, attracting everyone’s attention.

Aboussad, who is of Moroccan origin, went on to denounce the US-headquartered company’s role in war profiteering amid the ongoing American-Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women.

I stopped using Mojeek as my default search engine when I searched for Palestine and various other terms and only got pro-Israeli results.

But today I was looking for “British search engine”.

With respect to the first part, Mojeek only claims to provide unbiased search results. If they crawl the web and find only one point of view, that’s a reflection of the original sources and not of Mojeek. Mojeek is working fine in that case. Namely, you can find a point of view that you don’t agree with.

What you’re talking about is Mojeek Focus, where you can cherry-pick what sources you see results from and filter the rest out.

And, for the record, if you want to do something similar to Focus but the website is not in Mojeek’s index at that moment then you can do something similar with Google’s product.

However, if Mojeek is not working in some way then I encourage you to explain the issue using one of Mojeek’s feedback channels. I can’t guarantee a response. But, I’ve found Mojeek’s staff to be responsive and helpful with the issues I’ve found and reported.
