How does mojeek make money?

Sorry for the rude subject line, but I thought I’d get right to the point.

I just became aware of mojeek today, and was poking around your site. I like the philosophy, but everyone seems swayed by finances one way or the other. We all have to eat. I don’t see any mention of how you folks support this enterprise, although maybe I haven’t poked around long enough.

One thing I appreciated about DuckDuckGo is that they were up front with how they financed their operation, and made clear how those arrangements might affect me.

So - How does mojeek stay pure?

Welcome to the community. I don’t have an answer beyond the blog post. But, I just wanted to let you know that it is the weekend in the UK. And, it is likely you’ll get an answer next week.

We make money from contextual (no-tracking) advertising and from our API, which is used by search brands and others including AI companies. Currently the API is our main source of revenue.
