About the usefulness of feedback on search results

Is the feedback from our research really useful for refining the algorithm?
If is it, how often i have to submit it to be helpful?

Welcome @MXC48 to the community.

I presume you are referring to reports that we get from the “Submit Feedback” button form.

If so, I will say that these can sometimes extremely useful. Often it flags up an issue we know about very well. And often it is an issue that we already know about, but need more information - so the feedback helps. In all cases the queries can become part of our test suite so have usefulness in the longer term.

We do look at every report. Even if we do not always reply.

I wish there was a guide for what makes a very useful report, and what does not. All I can say is the more in number they are, and the more diverse they are, the better. It feels a bit like being helped in finding a needle in a haystack. One small find (of a needle) has in the past unearthed something extremely useful, and a big improvement.

The best time to do reports is after we make a specific call for feedback here. Which we make here now and again, and after a significant algorithm update.

Thank you very much for your reply! I would also like there to be a feedback guide so that I can submit comments that are as useful as possible.

I will keep an eye on the forum in the hope of finding ways to improve the algorithm, particularly in other languages.
