5 Billion Pages 🎉🥂🎈

We’ve been teasing it for a while but we can confirm that in late February we crossed the 5bn mark, which is a big one.

We’re always looking forward to how we can improve and grow, but if anyone wants to look at the history, here it is:

• We hit 1.5 billion in December 2016
• Celebrated 2 billion in June 2018
• Surpassed 3 billion (and announced our app) in April 2020
• Zoomed past 4 billion in June 2021 this being the first one that your humble narrator was on board for

We normally do this with Wikipedias, as it’s such a vast repository of information.

If we take English Wiki to be 6,464,135 pages, we’re now at about 773 English Wikis in the index.

We’re not slowing down either

It is getting easier to stick with Mojeek all day and not have to switch for edge cases.

I’m finding the same thing, it’s easier to stick with Mojeek now than it was when the index was only 2 Billion pages.

The search choices also help, although I’m finding most of the time I don’t really need them. It’s just my curiosity that makes me want to compare.

It is so fun to see the evolution of Mojeek. I find myself drifting less and less to other search engines. And I LOVE the minimalist setting. Now @Colin we need merch
